Seats remain for the 63rd annual S.C. Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Banquet set for May 19

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Seats remain for the 63rd Annual South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony & Banquet. The event, which sells out annually with more than 800 in attendance, will be held on Monday, May 19, at the Columbia Convention Center beginning at 5:30 p.m.
 

Being enshrined this year with the Class of 2025 are Furman and MLS star Clint Dempsey, former USC Aiken and Coastal Carolina baseball coach Gary Gilmore, Clemson tennis standout Susan Hill Whitson and football player Harold Olson, USC basketball player Shannon Johnson and catcher Landon Powell, Erskine and College of Charleston soccer coach Ralph Lundy and Pro Football Hall of Famer Richard Seymour. Claflin women’s basketball coach Nelson Brownlee and Erskine basketball player Don Whitehead will be enshrined posthumously.
 

Being recognized with the Willie Jeffries Ambassador for Sports Award is Kerry Tharp of Darlington, while all South Carolina High School All Sports Officials will be honored with the Bobby Richardson Sportsmanship Award. Jim Hudson of Columbia will receive the Felix “Doc” Blanchard Citizen for Sports Award while Pete Iacobelli of the Associated Press will be recognized with the Herman Helms Excellence in Media Award.
 

Tables of eight are $800 and levels of sponsorship opportunities are available.
