It is with deep regret that we share that longtime board member and past president Kay Fortune has passed away.
Kay was this organization’s president in 2014 and remains the lone female president in our 65-year history. She was brought to the board by the late Dom Fusci, also a longtime board member and 1991 inductee, and Kay was recognized in 2016 with the Fusci Award, which is presented to the board member who is “a driving force behind the annual operations and camaraderie of the SCAHOF.”
“When we began our Sunday President’s Receptions more than 10 years ago, it was Kay who stepped up and handled all of our catering and arrangement needs … at no cost to us,” said Executive Director Andy Solomon. “She ably and quietly managed that critical aspect of the evening though 2024.
“While her dear friend Jeff Grantz secured and delivered the adult beverages, it was Kay who organized everything and literally called the shots to ensure we had a splendid time,” Solomon added. (Executive Director Emeritus) Ephraim Ulmer and I never gave the evening a second thought because Kay had it under control.”
While she was from Lancaster, she called Columbia home. Funeral plans are being coordinated by Burgess Funeral Home in Lancaster.
